FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions
About 3D Printing

What is 3D printing and how does it work?
3D printing is an innovative manufacturing technique where digital 3D models are built layer by layer. At Venture Rapid Technologies, we use advanced industrial 3D printing techniques to create high-quality prototypes and end products with unprecedented precision.
How much does it cost to have something 3D printed?
The costs for 3D printing depend on multiple factors. Important aspects that determine the price are the chosen material, the complexity of the model, the dimensions of the part, the desired printing technique, and the number of pieces to be produced. Because each project is unique, we recommend contacting us for a precise quote without any obligation.
Where can I have something 3D printed?
As a leading 3D printing company in the Netherlands, we specialize in providing various 3D printing solutions. Whether you need industrial prototyping, small to medium production series, functional or presentation models, or technical components – Venture Rapid Technologies has the expertise and technology to make your project a success.
What should not be 3D printed?
Although 3D printing is extremely versatile, there are some limitations to consider. Parts with extremely thin wall thicknesses, very large models without special provisions, or components that cannot be supplied as a closed 3D model can present challenges. Our experts are happy to advise you on the possibilities and potential adjustments.
Technical Details
What 3D printing techniques does VRT offer?
Venture Rapid Technologies offers a wide range of advanced printing techniques. FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling) is ideal for robust prints in technical materials. SLA (Stereolithography) delivers high-quality detailing with smooth surfaces, while SLS (Selective Laser Sintering) produces strong functional models. In addition to these techniques, we also offer vacuum casting for small series, injection molding for professional production, and CNC milling for precision machining of plastic parts.
What are the size possibilities for 3D printing?
The dimensional possibilities vary per printing technique. SLA technology can produce details down to 0.4 mm, while SLS can handle details of 0.5 mm. Other techniques use a minimum of 0.8 mm. In terms of maximum dimensions, we can print with SLA up to 1000 x 1000 x 600 mm, SLS up to 450 x 400 x 600 mm, and FDM can make very large prints, albeit with slightly less precision.
What materials and colors are available?
Our material selection is extensive. FDM offers various colors in different plastics. SLS works mainly with white and gray, especially in nylon. SLA has a more limited color choice with shades such as black, white, brown, and yellow. For specific requirements, we can also post-process models, such as painting them in the desired color.
Practical Information
What is the average delivery time?
Our efficient production processes ensure short turnaround times. We typically deliver most projects within 2-5 working days, depending on the complexity and scope of your order.
How do I submit a 3D file?
We accept common file formats such as STEP, PARASOLID, and STL. It's important that the file is a closed 3D model – loose components cannot be printed directly.
Is my idea safe?
Safety and confidentiality are our top priorities. Each project is treated discreetly, and we offer the possibility of signing a non-disclosure agreement. Our reputation is based on almost 28 years of reliable service.
