3D Printing - professional
3D printing service for
businesses and individuals
As a pioneer in the European manufacturing industry, VRT has been offering high-quality 3D printing services for nearly 28 years. We distinguish ourselves by exclusively working with industrial-grade printers of the highest quality, allowing us to provide both businesses and individuals with professionally 3D printed products that offer consistent quality and precision.
What is 3D printing?
3D printing, also known as additive manufacturing, is a revolutionary production technique where products are built layer by layer from digital 3D models. Unlike traditional manufacturing methods that remove material, 3D printing selectively adds material where needed, resulting in less waste and unprecedented design freedom.
At VRT, we offer three advanced 3D printing techniques, each with specific advantages and applications:
- Stereolithography (SLA) - Excels in detail and surface quality
- Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) - Excellent for strong, functional components
- Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) - Versatile and cost-efficient
Benefits of professional 3D printing
A professional 3D printing service like VRT offers numerous advantages that make it an excellent choice for both prototyping and small-scale production:
- No mould investments required - Direct from CAD model to physical product
- Unprecedented design freedom - Complex geometries at no additional cost
- Rapid delivery - Prototypes and small series within days
Our on-demand manufacturing approach means you produce exactly what's needed, when it's needed. Complex components can be printed in one piece, eliminating assembly costs. As designs are stored digitally, there are no inventory costs, and we can produce series of up to 10,000 pieces, depending on the technique and application.
Overview of our 3D printing techniques
SLA (Stereolithography)
Stereolithography uses a UV laser to cure liquid photopolymer resin layer by layer. This technique delivers objects with exceptional accuracy (details down to 0.1mm), very smooth surfaces without visible layer lines, and excellent detail reproduction for complex structures. SLA is ideal for applications where aesthetics and precision are paramount, and offers the possibility of transparent prints and delicate details.
SLS (Selective Laser Sintering)
Selective Laser Sintering melts polyamide (nylon) powder with a powerful laser. The technique produces strong, functional parts without the need for support structures, with consistent mechanical properties in all directions. SLS enables complex geometries with internal structures that would be impossible to achieve with conventional methods. A particular advantage is the ability to create living hinges and even assembled components in a single print.
FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling)
Fused Deposition Modeling works with thermoplastic filaments that are deposited layer by layer. This technique offers a wide range of materials, from standard plastics such as PLA and ABS to high-performance technical polymers such as PEEK and Nylon. FDM delivers cost-efficient production for prototypes and small series, with the ability to print relatively large objects in one piece. The resulting components have good mechanical properties and are suitable for various functional applications.

Who is our 3D printing service for?
Businesses (B2B)
As a business, you benefit from our industrial 3D printers for functional prototypes, production tools and fixtures for small series, end-user products for market introduction, complex components for machine building and industrial automation, and spare parts or specialist components. Our commercial clients appreciate the combination of professional quality and direct support.
Individuals (B2C)
Private individuals, hobbyists and inventors can also utilise our professional 3D printing service. Whether you want to realise your own designs and ideas, seek personalised products and gifts, create art objects and jewellery with complex geometries, need replacement parts for consumer products, or want to produce educational models – our high-quality 3D printers are at your disposal.
How does our 3D printing service work?
Our e-Manufacturing process makes it easy to bring your ideas to life in five steps. Start by uploading your 3D file or contact us for design advice. You'll then receive a quotation based on your specifications. After confirming your order and any specific requirements, we produce your components using the optimal 3D printing technique. Finally, we deliver your high-quality 3D printed products to your desired address.
This streamlined approach ensures a quick turnaround while maintaining the highest quality standards.
3D printing for various applications
Our 3D printing technologies find application in numerous sectors:
- Prototyping - Rapidly iterate and improve designs before production
- Production support - Tools, fixtures and moulds for more efficient processes
- Small series - Cost-effective production without major investments
For complex products with internal structures, organic shapes or integrated functionality, our techniques offer possibilities that would be impossible with traditional methods. In the medical sector, we produce various devices and visualisation models using biocompatible materials.
3D printing prices and costs
The costs for 3D printing are determined by several factors. The chosen technology (SLA, SLS or FDM) has a significant influence on the price, as do the volume and dimensions of the object. The choice and quality of material plays a role, as does the print orientation and complexity of the design. Any post-processing and finishing, plus the number of desired pieces, complete the price calculation. For an accurate price quote, you can upload your 3D model or contact us. We're happy to prepare a personalised quotation based on your specific wishes and requirements.
Why choose our 3D printing service?
Nearly 28 years of experience and expertise
As one of the pioneers in the Dutch 3D printing industry, we have unparalleled expertise in additive manufacturing technologies. We understand all the possibilities and limitations, allowing us to always provide the best advice for your specific application.
Honest and reliable advice
We don't sell empty promises. Our advisors provide honest advice about what is and isn't possible with 3D printing, including the advantages and disadvantages for your specific project. This transparent approach helps us avoid disappointments and ensures you have realistic expectations.
Complete service from design to finishing
In addition to 3D printing, we offer a comprehensive service that covers all aspects of product realisation. We assist with optimising designs for 3D printing, perform various post-processing operations, and can guide the transition to other production techniques when you move to larger volumes.
Exclusively industrial quality
We only work with top-quality industrial 3D printers, not desktop printers. This ensures you receive consistent quality, accuracy and reliability required for professional applications.
Limitations of 3D printing
While 3D printing offers many advantages, we are transparent about its limitations:
- Material selection - More limited than with conventional production methods
- Colour options - Limited possibilities, depending on technique and material
- Economies of scale - At larger quantities, conventional techniques become more economical
In terms of dimensions, our 3D printing techniques are suitable for smaller to medium-sized products, but less suitable for very large objects. The surface finish may require post-processing, depending on the chosen technique and the desired end quality. Our experts will advise you honestly about the suitability of 3D printing for your specific application.
